Sustainability

Sustainability is a fundamental concept that encompasses the practice of meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It involves striking a delicate balance between environmental, economic, and social factors to ensure the long-term health and well-being of both people and the planet. Sustainability aims to minimise resource depletion, reduce pollution and waste, promote equity and social justice, and foster economic prosperity that is inclusive and equitable. At its core, sustainability is about living within the limits of the Earth’s natural systems, preserving biodiversity, and creating a world where all individuals and communities can thrive now and in the future.

At Ley Hill Solutions we pride ourselves on being able to support our clients in numerous ways to deliver sustainable businesses, from ISO standards, Frameworks and best practice we believe we can support all businesses to achieve true sustainability.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 goals that were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. The SDGs provide a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. The goals are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

Carbon Neutrality

Carbon neutrality is a concept focused on achieving a balance between the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions released into the atmosphere and the amount of CO2 removed or offset. It entails reducing carbon emissions to the lowest possible level and then compensating for any remaining emissions through activities such as carbon offsetting or carbon capture and storage. Carbon neutrality is crucial in the fight against climate change, as CO2 is a major contributor to global warming and its associated impacts, such as rising temperatures, sea level rise, and extreme weather events. By striving for carbon neutrality, individuals, businesses, and governments aim to mitigate their carbon footprint and transition towards a sustainable, low-carbon future, ultimately helping to preserve the health of the planet for future generations.

Using tried and tested ISO standards such as Environmental Management (14001), Energy Management (50001) Carbon Neutrality (PAS 2060) and Sustainable Event Management (20121) Ley Hill Solutions can support all aspects of your business to achieve carbon neutrality.

Risk & Resilience

In today’s dynamic and uncertain business environment, organisations face a multitude of risks that can impact their operations, reputation, and bottom line. To effectively manage these risks and enhance their resilience, many businesses turn to internationally recognised standards. ISO standards offer a framework for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks while also helping companies build robust systems to adapt and recover from disruptions. Leveraging ISO standards for risk and resilience enables businesses to proactively manage uncertainties, strengthen their ability to adapt to changing conditions, and ultimately enhance their long-term sustainability and success in today’s competitive landscape.
